Fair housing
ByTenants supports fair housing and equal access to housing for everyone. We are not a broker or a listings site: we do not rent, show or advertise apartments.
What the law protects
Federal, New York State and New York City law make it illegal to refuse to rent, to set different terms, or to harass a tenant because of who they are. In New York City that includes race, colour, religion, national origin, citizenship and immigration status, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, marital or partnership status, having children, and lawful source of income, including housing vouchers.
